Second Life Physics Lab evolution II

A few days ago I replaced old Second Life Physics Lab cones and cylinders hull megaprims for spheroid ones. BTW, I have noticed that it realizes pretty cool on the new 2.3 Viewer.

Due to the new ellipsoid format, new floors have been added.
  • Entrance is Level 0, now.
  • Head's office moved two Levels down to Level -2, just below the future Auditorium.
  • Planetarium is on the top floor, now numbered as Level 8
  • Cannon is presently on Level 4
Due to ban lines around the Lab, I had to remove the 'Spaceport' platform from the entrance Level. Now I'm building a Hangar on Level 7 which will home the Landing Simulator. I'll tell more about it on another post.

Of course, there's a lot of work to be done. For example, the lighting effects I mentioned before is a mess. But I intend to fix it soon.

Cyber-Science

A talk about mind, brain and calculators by Mez Oyen, presented by Giovanna Delphin on Science on the Road. An idea map to guide you in the areas of cognitive science.

Tonight 10th,12pm SLT at .

Intelligent machines and cyborgs of science fiction are pop subsidiaries of the idea that the mind is a information processor, implementable on different physical media. This idea has been developed with the rigor of the cognitive science during the twentieth century. Let's tell its history: On what scientific and philosophical basis has it grown at an early stage during the first half half of the last century, has expanded and consolidated in the period from the '60s to the '80s, and then how, in more recent years, has had to confront the advance of neuroscience and the return of the reductionist approach.

As always, Science on the Road talks are coordinated by Talete Flanagan (Second Physics) and Giovanna Delphin (Immersiva.2life), with the help from Calliope Lexington (Second Physics) and from Crazy SL Press for communication in SL and RL and maintenance of the blog ScienzaontheRoad where the full talk program can be found.

A Journey to extrasolar planets

On Science on the Road, a talk between science and sci-fi by Intelliverso Barbosa, presented by Giovanna Delphin.

Tonight 4th,12pm at Locus, a sim devoted to the exploration of new building and art forms unique to the virtual world and also the studio of DB Bailey (David Denton architect in RL). A remarkable architecture with walls of collapsing numbers and dream images.

As a extra bonus, this event will inaugurate the new land as DB Bailey will lead guests through its new architectures and unexpected dreams after Intelliverso talk.
